Steps to a Red Lipstick Smile™
STEP 1 CONSULT/EXAM
This is where we find out what you want. You tell us about your problems and your 'new smile' dreams and we listen and then give you some ideas as to what can be done.
We do a thorough exam to find out if your 'smile dreams' can actually become a reality and what would be involved to make them happen.
We need to make sure the underlying foundation of your mouth is strong and healthy. A Red Lipstick Smile™ costs too much to build it over and around any existing periodontal disease. If you have missing teeth we need to decide what to do about them. If you have worn teeth or you suffer from headaches, jaw or neck pain, you won't want your new smile built to keep you in the same position or you will continue to have those problems.
STEP 2 FOLLOW-UP CONSULT
On this visit, Dr. Coker will have studied your records and we will be able to discuss his findings with you. We can talk about your treatment options and and the costs of those treatments. A new Red Lipstick Smile™ can cost as little as a semester at a community college or as much as a semester at an elite private university, depending on the treatment plan selected.
STEP 3 ANY NECESSARY DENTAL TREATMENT
Depending upon the results of your exam, you may need to complete such things as root canals, periodontal treatment, crown lengthening, or implants before beginning your Red Lipstick Smile™.
STEP 4 WAX-UP
This appointment will begin the process of creating your new smile. Impressions will be made of your teeth and then sent to the lab with detailed instructions for your new smile wax-up, a 3-dimensional blueprint of your finished case. This is a major step in the process of getting excellent results with your Red Lipstick Smile™. It also allows you and Dr. Coker to check on the shape and size of the teeth.
STEP 5 BEGIN PREPARATIONS FOR PERMANENT SMILE
This is the appointment where your teeth will be prepared for your final smile. If you are nervous about this, sedation options were probably discussed with you at your Follow-Up Consult appointment. Your comfort is important to us. The best part of this visit is that you will leave with your new temporary smile. That is FUN!
STEP 6 PERMANENT SMILE IS FITTED
This appointment is where you will get your new permanent smile fitted. The day you have been waiting for!
STEP 7 FOLLOW-UP
You will come back in after 1 or 2 days of getting your permanent smile so we can make any finishing contours or adjustments.
